Announcing the 2016 Oahu Hill Climbing Challenge!

A new and fun challenge has been created and launched this year to help you ramp up your training for the 2016 race season. It is simple and FREE to participate, all you need to do is have an existing Strava account, and then register at the Oahu Hill Climbing Challenge (OHCC) site at

The OHCC competition works like this:

  1. There are 8 pre-designated climbs defined on
  2. The goal of the OHCC is to ride all 8 segments during January and February.
  3. The rider who has the cumulative fastest time on ALL 8 climbs will be the winner.
  4. You can ride each segment as many times as you want, and the OHCC site will automatically update and use your fastest time for each segment.
  5. The OHCC site keeps a live leaderboard, list of all registered competitors, information on each climb, and more. Visit to see more.

Here's how to join the OHCC:

  1. Make sure you have a Strava account at
  2. Then register for the OHCC at Oahu Hill Climbing Challenge by simply entering your email address and birthday. This is used to validate and connect to your Strava account (and for NO other purposes!). The Register link is in the upper right-hand corner.
  3. You ride the OHCC segments between January 1st and February 29th and record your rides on either a gps enabled cycling head unit or the Strava App on your smart phone.
  4. You upload your rides to Strava either from your gps head unit or your smart phone.

That's it, that's all you have to do! Register...Ride...Record...Upload.

Every time you ride one of the 8 OHCC segments during January or February and upload the ride to Strava, the OHCC site will automatically grab the segment and show it on the OHCC site. You can ride each segment as many times as you want, and the OHCC site will update to only show your fastest time.

Join the fun and friendly competition while waking up your climbing legs for 2016!
